Accident Assessments

If you are involved in a motor vehicle accident, an accident assessment may be necessary for various reasons. This can be undertaken through a ‘Motor Vehicle Loss Assessment Report’ (MVLAR). Simply, a MVLAR is a report of a vehicle that has been involved in an accident and the method of repair. A Motor Vehicle Loss Assessment Report will: select a method of repair, discuss the cost of repairs with the repairer, give an estimated time of how long the repairs would take and ensure consistency in the damages.

Motor Vehicle Loss Assessment Report is crucial to show and prove what was damaged in the accident. This is particularly important if you are not at fault and are in the process of recovering costs of repair. With a MVLAR you can justify your losses. Usually the person who requests the vehicle assessment will pay the MVLAR fee. However, if you are not at fault in an accident, you can recover the fee for the assessment from the other party.
